Prescription Lenses for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, Ray-Ban Meta Audio & the New Meta Glasses (Meta Connect 2026 Guide)

By Jacob Rosenberg, Co-Founder / CEO, Tajima Direct · Published September 2026

Meta Connect 2026 (September 23–24) brought seven new frame shapes: the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena, the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio Clubmaster and Burbank, and two new Meta Glasses styles, Capri and Nova. The short answer if you wear glasses: yes, every one of them takes replacement prescription lenses. The lenses are passive, the technology lives in the frame, and Tajima Direct makes custom prescription lenses for all seven.

Can you put prescription lenses in Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 and Ray-Ban Meta Audio?

Yes. Every new frame uses two ordinary, passive lenses. On the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 (Wayfarer, Aviator, Zena) and the new Meta Glasses (Capri, Nova), the camera, open-ear speakers, microphones and Meta AI live in the frame. Ray-Ban Meta Audio (Clubmaster and Burbank) has no camera; its open-ear speakers, microphones and Meta AI live in the frame. No new model has electronics in the lens, and Meta itself sells these styles with prescription lenses (Meta: Aviator, Clubmaster, Capri).

What the Optics versions are. The Gen 3 Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena also come as Optics versions (RW4011V, RW4016V, RW4015V): the same smart glasses sold with demo lenses so prescription lenses can be fitted (Ray-Ban.com, Wayfarer Optics). We make lenses for both the sun and Optics versions of all three.

Two exceptions. The Meta Ray-Ban Display is not new, and it can't take our lenses: its prescription is embedded in the display lens when it is made and can't be changed afterward (Meta prescription page). The Oakley Meta Vanguard uses a single shield lens, so it can't either. The Oakley Meta HSTN and every other style can.

What Meta and Ray-Ban offer for prescription lenses (and where it stops)

Meta publishes its prescription limits as total power (Meta help center; Meta prescription page):

  • Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Wayfarer and Zena, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Gen 2 and the Optics frames: −12.00 to +6.00.
  • Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Aviator: −6.00 to +4.00, the narrowest range in the line (Meta Aviator page).
  • Meta Glasses, including Capri and Nova: −12.00 to +2.25.
  • Orders placed directly on Meta.com: −6.00/+6.00, and those orders take up to 14 days.
  • Prism: not offered.

On price, Ray-Ban.com lists single-vision lenses for the Gen 3 Wayfarer Optics at $225 for clear, $370 for sun and $420 for Transitions, on top of the $449 frame (Ray-Ban.com). For Ray-Ban Meta Audio, launch coverage reports prescription lenses as a $100 upcharge (ecoustics).

Meta's own prescription service has published limits (Meta Glasses stop at +2.25 total power; the Gen 3 Aviator at −6.00/+4.00; orders placed on Meta.com at −6.00/+6.00), and it does not offer prism. Tajima Direct regularly fills prescriptions beyond those limits, including prism, high-index and progressives. If your prescription is very strong or unusual, email help@tajima-direct.com with your Rx before ordering and we'll confirm.

Other styles, including the Adventurer, Fury and Starfire by Kylie, are on our Ray-Ban Meta and Meta Glasses replacement lens pages.

Does replacing the lenses affect the warranty?

Here is what Meta itself says, by family.

  • Meta Glasses (Capri, Nova, Adventurer, Fury, Starfire): Meta tells owners who want to add prescription lenses later that they can visit a recommended optical partner "or any optician of your choice" (Meta prescription page). Meta's Rx Lens Swap program replaces a Meta Glasses frame damaged during installation by a licensed optician or optical lab, for one year (Rx Lens Swap terms).
  • Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3, Audio, Gen 2 and Optics): Meta points buyers to certified retailers and says that if lenses were added elsewhere, you should "review the warranty terms" (Meta prescription page). Rx Lens Swap does not cover Ray-Ban Meta, and Meta's paid Warranty Plus excludes installation of non-authorized lenses (Warranty Plus terms).

We have not seen a Meta or Ray-Ban page that says third-party lenses void the standard 12-month warranty. Tajima Direct is independent and not affiliated with Meta, Ray-Ban or EssilorLuxottica, so we recommend reviewing the current warranty terms for your glasses before you order.

How it works

  1. Choose your lenses. Pick clear, polarized sun or Transitions, in Single Vision or Progressive, enter your prescription at checkout and tell us which frame you have.
  2. Send your frames in. Within 1 business day we email you a prepaid shipping label, or mail you a box with a prepaid label inside.
  3. We make and install your lenses. Your lenses are cut to your frame and installed in our Huntington Beach lab.
  4. Your glasses ship back with your original lenses, and every smart feature works as before.

Turnaround: prescription lenses take an estimated 7–12 business days after your frames reach our lab; non-prescription lenses take an estimated 2–5 business days. Shipping time to and from the lab isn't included. Pre-ordered Ray-Ban Meta Audio (shipping from October 13)? Order your lenses once your glasses arrive.

How much do prescription lenses for Ray-Ban Meta cost?

Tajima Direct prices are flat and all-inclusive: lens material, premium coatings, digital Rx design, expert installation and U.S. shipping both ways. The same prices apply to Ray-Ban Meta, Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Meta Glasses.

Lens type Price
Polarized Sun Rx (Single Vision / Progressive) $395–$495
Clear Rx $249–$379
Transitions Rx $375–$640

  • RW4015 / RW4015V: Gen 3 Zena / Zena Optics

Meta Glasses (Capri, Nova, Adventurer, Fury, Starfire) are sold by name rather than an RW code, so go by shape; our Meta Glasses guide shows each one. If the code on your Ray-Ban Meta has worn off, email help@tajima-direct.com with a photo and we'll identify it.

Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, Audio & Meta Glasses lens FAQ

What is the prescription range for the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Aviator?

Meta publishes −6.00 to +4.00 total power for the Gen 3 Aviator and Aviator Optics, the narrowest range in the Ray-Ban Meta line. Tajima Direct regularly fills prescriptions beyond Meta's limits, including prism. If your prescription is very strong or unusual, email help@tajima-direct.com with your Rx before ordering and we'll confirm.

Can I get clear prescription lenses for Ray-Ban Meta Audio?

Yes. The Clubmaster (RW7004) and Burbank (RW7005) are standard two-lens frames, and clear prescription lenses for them are $249–$379 in Single Vision or Progressive. Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera; its open-ear speakers, microphones and Meta AI live in the frame, so new lenses don't affect them.

What are Ray-Ban Meta Optics frames, and can you fit them?

Optics versions (RW4011V, RW4016V, RW4015V) are the same smart glasses sold with demo lenses so prescription lenses can be fitted. We make lenses for all three, and for the Gen 2 Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics.

Can Meta Capri and Meta Nova take prescription lenses?

Yes. Both are passive two-lens frames. Meta's own service stops at +2.25 total power for all Meta Glasses, and we regularly fill prescriptions beyond that. Start on our Meta Glasses prescription lenses page.

Which Meta glasses can't take replacement lenses?

Two models: the Meta Ray-Ban Display, whose prescription is embedded in the display lens when it is made and can't be changed, and the Oakley Meta Vanguard, which uses a single shield lens. Every other Ray-Ban Meta, Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Meta Glasses style can take our lenses.

Does replacing the lenses void the warranty?

We have not seen a Meta or Ray-Ban page that says third-party lenses void the standard 12-month warranty. Meta says Meta Glasses owners can add Rx lenses at any optician of their choice; for Ray-Ban Meta it points buyers to certified retailers, and its paid Warranty Plus excludes non-authorized lenses. Tajima Direct is independent, so we recommend reviewing the current warranty terms for your glasses.

How long does it take?

Prescription lenses take an estimated 7–12 business days after your frames reach our lab; non-prescription lenses take 2–5 business days. Shipping time isn't included.

Do I have to send my frames in?

Yes, smart glasses are send-in only. We email a prepaid label (or mail a box) within 1 business day, install your lenses in our lab and return your original lenses with your glasses.

Can I use insurance, HSA or FSA?

Yes. Pay with an HSA or FSA card at checkout, or submit the itemized receipt we provide to your vision insurance for reimbursement.

What is your return policy?

If you're not 100% satisfied, you get a full refund with free return shipping within 30 days of receiving your new lenses, plus a 1-year warranty against manufacturer's defects.
